Kiana Denise Burns

Kiana Denise Burns, 28, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on June 12, 2022 following injuries sustained in a car accident on June 9, 2022.  Kiana was born in Rockford, Illinois on Friday, March 11, 1994 to mother, Denise Joy Gatling and father, Shondray Reon Burns.

Kiana graduated from Jefferson High School in Rockford in 2012.

Kiana held various odd jobs throughout her life in order to support herself and her children.  Most recently, she worked as a Packer, packing school books and supplies for school children.  Kiana had a beautiful smile that would light up any room she walked into.  She had fierce love for her children and her family.  Kiana was everyone’s protector, especially her mother’s.  She helped countless friends when they needed a place to stay or food to eat. She was a giver.  Even through her death, Kiana gave life.  She was able to save the lives of 5 total strangers through organ donation.  Kiana was a shining bright light to everyone who knew her.  Her love for her children will be carried on through her memory, and her memory will continue to be a blessing to her family.  She will be greatly missed.  We know you are watching over all of us!  We love you Kiana!

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, June 24, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan Funeral Home in Speedway, Indiana.  Service officiated by Elder Chris Johnson.
