Kenneth Jerry Brown Sr.

Kenneth Jerry Brown Sr, 77, met his Heavenly Father on May 25, 2022, in Avon Indiana, after encountering multiple health issues.

Ken was born to the late Otis and Thelma Brown at Camp Atterbury, IN, on March 8, 1945. He was a veteran of the Army, assigned to the 384th band, eventually earning the award “Soldier of the Month” at Fort Eustis. He graduated from Camden High School and later from the University of Indianapolis with a degree in Business Administration. Additional study included a Master’s in Business Administration from Butler University. He was a gifted accountant employed in a variety of accounting positions over the years including serving on the local Board of Directors for the Institute of Management Accountants. He also was an adjunct faculty member at the University of Indianapolis and Indiana Wesleyan.

Ken was blessed with a loving family. He married his wife of nearly 56 years, Barbara Jocham Brown on June 11, 1966, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Ken was active within his church, serving in a variety of ministry positions from minister to elder and prison outreach. He loved teaching others from God’s word in his community. He was a member of The Scottish Rite, Masons (Oaklandon), and Eastern Star. He was funny, out-going, and most importantly, loved the Lord and others well.  He is dearly missed by his loved ones and friends, who celebrate knowing that he is at peace with his Savior.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; brother, Lynn (Claudette); sons Jerry (Laura) and Stephen (Sherrie); his daughter Amanda (Mike) East; his grandchildren, Courtney, Madeline, Stephenie, Ryan, Shelby, Joshua, Suzanne, and Alexandria. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 am on May 31st at Ben Davis Christian Church with Celebration of Life service beginning at 11:00 am. Graveside service will follow at Camden Cemetery 2pm.
