Kathryn Rae Martens

Kathryn Rae Martens, 48, of Indianapolis, IN passed away August 4, 2019. She was born in Akron, Ohio on January 2, 1971 to Paul McDonald and Janis Gudin.

After graduating high school, Kathy went on to serve in the United States Army. She later became the devoted wife to Jacob Martens and shared a relationship full of love and travels. Together they raised three incredible children, Alexander, Kelsi-Marie, and Isabel Grace.

Kathy loved working in her yard and garden, being outdoors, and was very adventurous. She also had a passion for travel. Her favorite place to visit was Puerto Rico’s sandy beaches, but Gatlinburg, Tennessee and California held special places in her heart as well.

Kathy is survived by her beloved husband of 22 years, Jacob Martens; three adoring children, Alexander, Kelsi-Marie and Isabel Grace; parents, Paul McDonald and Janis Gudin; Mother-in-law, Sherrie Martens; and Father-in-law, Barry Martens.

Kathy is preceded in death by her grandparents, Katherine and Charles Gudin and Jean and Raymond McDonald.

Services will be held at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229 on August 10, 2019 at 1PM.
