Julia Jean Lawall, known to her friends as Judy, was born on March 27, 1929 to Harold and Esta Sharp of Frankfort, Indiana. Julia and her brother Jack had great fun growing up on the family farm, but Julia had other ideas after graduating first from Michigantown High School in 1947. With the encouragement from family, Julia attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana and earned her BS in Business Education in 1951. She married the love of her life, William C. Lawall, on November 8, 1952. She was known for her organizational skills and worked in various positions as an office manager. She had a life-long passion for politics and volunteered for many years as a precinct committee person registering voters new to her community. She was active and volunteered at Keystone Reform Church and later joined St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Carmel, IN. Julia and William divided their time between Indianapolis and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida during their retirement years. Julia passed away on June 19, 2021. She was a beloved mother, grandparent, great-grandparent and aunt and is survived by her daughter, Barbara James (Patrick), son, John Lawall (Lesa), grandchildren Brian James (Meghan), Laura Murray (Brian), Christopher James (Kerry), Rachel Blair (Nathan), Kyle LaWall (Rebekkah), Jacob LaWall, Emma Lawall and great-grandchildren, Poppy and Levi James, Natalie and Savannah Murray, Roberta James, Josie, Jaxon and Lexie Blair. A private funeral service will be held on July 11 at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to New Life Christian Reform Church, Nepal Project, in Spring Texas, or DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Charitable Service Trust.
