Joyce G. Watson, 87, of Indianapolis went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 11, 2022. She was born on October 8, 1934 in Revelo, Kentucky to the late Herbert and Stella “Mae” King. She was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great, great-grandmother.
When Joyce’s children were young, the phrase “stay-at-home-Mom” didn’t exist. It was usual for women to stay home with their children while their husbands worked. But even by the standards of the era, Joyce was an exceptional wife and mother. She cared deeply for her family and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was.
Joyce was blessed with a large and loving family. From the very beginning, she dedicated her life to God and taught her family to love the Lord.
Joyce is survived by her sisters, Ruth Powell, Elizabeth Byrd; brothers, Edward King (Helga), Wiley King, Bobby King (Joan), William (Peggy); her beloved children, Lannie Watson, Carol Powell (Ben), Nila Brooks (Lynn), Marcia Graves (Larry), Russell Watson; her grandchildren, Annie Snyder (Brandon), Stephanie Trosvig (Danny), Robert O’Dell (Brandie), Phil Brooks (Shannon), Stacie Sheffield (Ed), Ryan Graves (Casey), Kristen Madren (Zach), Kayla Baldonado (TJ), Lindsay Watson, Kelsey Madren (Josh), Joshua Watson; her great-grandchildren, Darianne Snyder, Ashley Ford, Kinley O’Dell, Hannah Rife, Kaysie Crumpton, Courtney Hargett, Madison Brooks, Landon Brooks, McKenna Sheffield, Braylon Sheffield, Kaden Sheffield, Raine George, Ryan Lewis, MyKenzie Madren, Khloe Madren, Landon Madren, Lily Madren and Evelette Baldonado; her great, great-grandchildren, Akiiya, Lyric and Frankie Ford, Zaiden and Zandon Rife.
