Joyce D. Gardinier, 81 of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 14, 2020 at Indiana University Hospital West. She was born on August 16, 1939 in Danville, IL to the late Noel and Geraldine (Wade) Titus.
On August 1, 2000 she married Harry D. Gardiner, of Indianapolis and he survives. They enjoyed 20 years of a wonderful marriage. Other survivors include her daughter, Debi (Steven) Swarm; 2 sons, Kevin (Toni) Walker and Brian Walker; brother, Harold Lee (Sharon) Titus; daughter-in-law; Patricia Walker;7 grandchildren, Luther (Cynthia) Lindsey, Jeffrey (Erin) Lindsey, Jennifer (Javi) Luna, Abbey (Andrew) Lawson, Matthew (Emily Carroll) Swarm, Chase Chanley and Evan Chanley; 9 great-grandchildren, Miya, Addison, Jordan, Makayla, Isiah, Elyce, Joshua, Louie and Linzie; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gregory H. Walker.
Joyce was a graduate of Paris High School in Paris, IL. She later received a bachelor’s degree of accounting from Saint Mary’s of The Woods College after raising her children on a farm in Paris, IL. She later developed a passion for managing and occasionally owning struggling businesses that she was able to revise both operationally and financially. She was a member of numerous social and civic organizations throughout her career.
Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, private graveside services and entombment will be held at Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN. Her friend and pastor for many years, Pastor Danny Smith, will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to I.U. Heath Hospice in memory of Joyce.
