Joyce Anne Nichols, 69, of Greenfield passed away January 30th, 2022. She was born in Bloomington, Indiana, October 21st, 1952, to parents Ross and Bonnie (Ridge-Creech) Nichols.
She worked for Ice Miller LLP as a legal secretary for over 25 years, a job she excelled at and enjoyed.
Joyce was a strong, creative woman. Music was her biggest passion. She was a talented pianist, playing at Greywood Baptist Church and Baptist Temple in Greenfield for many years. She also taught piano lessons, sharing her talents with many students. Joyce had an eye for design and art and loved decorating her home—usually with lots of pink. She greatly enjoyed bowling. Though she endured various health conditions, Joyce remained independent, going out to eat and hosting visitors. In her free time, she was avid reader, a history buff, and huge fan of Jane Austin movies.
Joyce is survived by her daughters Chelsea English and Amy Wasson; grandchildren Brody Irwin, Jacob Jackson, Lydia Wasson, and Emma Wasson; great-grandchildren Elliot Irwin, Guinevere Irwin, Connor Wasson, and Cordelia Wasson; siblings Bill, Bob, and John Nichols; and her special friend Hal Mclaughlin.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation for Joyce will be at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East, Friday February 4th, 10-12pm; her funeral will begin at 12pm.
She will be laid to rest with her parents at Washington Park East Cemetery.
