Joyce Ann Martin Tinner

Joyce Ann Martin Tinner was born June 27, 1945 in Port Gibson, MS. She was the youngest child born to Booker T. Martin, Sr., and Lucy Winston Martin.

Joyce attended Addison High School where she met and later married John H. Tinner her husband of 54 years. She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and later united with the Pilgrim Baptist Church of Gary, IN where she served faithfully as a Nurse, Trustee and Board Member for more than so years.

Professionally, Joyce worked for the Kmart Corporation as district food manager of the Midwest Region until her retirement with 34 years of service.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband John Tinner; sisters: Jessie Jackson, Carnella Green, Melva. Woods, Mildred McBride, and Everdene Campbell, as well as several beloved nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Joyce Tinner was called from labor to reward March 24, 2021. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons: Gregory of Canton, MS and Michael (Carmen) of Indianapolis, IN. Two brothers: Booker T. Martin, Jr. (Josie) and James E. Jackson (Carolyn) of Port Gibson, MS. Sister: Addie Pennington (Harold) of Indianapolis, IN. Four grandchildren: Ashley, Kimberly, Kelly and Marcus; two great-grandchildren: Bryce and Nicole along with and a hot ot loving nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
