Joy Muriel Woodward

Joy Muriel Woodward born on August 31, 1925 passed away at the age of 95 on Monday, August 31, 2020. Joy was born in Gallatin, Tennessee. Joy is the daughter of the late Henry and Florence Key.

She worked in Warren Township School System at Lowell Elementary as the Cafeteria Manager and retired from there in 1982 after 27 years. After her retirement, she volunteered at Community Hospital East in the pediatric unit. She attended Fountain Square Church of Christ since June of 1950.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her three sisters: Clarice Key, Tawanda Trammel, and Sandra Butler. Also, preceded in death by her husband Thomas Woodward and son Jim Woodward.

She is survived by her son Kenny (Sheila) Woodward, one sister Patricia (Mike) Deasy of Huntsville, Alabama; daughter-in-law Romma Woodward; three grandsons: Scott (Natalie) Woodward, Tim Woodward, Stephen (Cara) Woodward. Joy has four great-grandchildren: Dawn, Levi, Conner, and Christian Woodward. She also has two step great-grandchildren: Bailey and Andrew.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 8^th, 2020 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Funeral Service will be held directly after at 2 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East with Brother Robert Young Jr. officiating.
