Joseph Timothy Donohue Jr.

Joseph Timothy Donohue, Jr., 75 of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023.  He was born on April 6, 1947 in Beech Grove, IN to the late Joseph Timothy Donohue, Sr. and Josephine Elizabeth (Teagarden) Donohue.

Tim attended St. Patrick’s Elementary School and graduated in 1965 from Sacred Heart High School.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1969 during the Vietnam War. Upon his return home, Tim began work with the U.S Postal Service and retired in 2003 after 33 years of service.

Tim was a former member of Little Flower Catholic Church and Our Lady of Lourdes and was a current member of St. Matthew Catholic Church.  He enjoyed bowling, and the challenge of a completing a good puzzle.  Tim was an avid supporter of the IU Basketball and Football programs, as well as supporting the Green Bay Packers and Cincinnati Reds.

Tim will be remembered as a simple man who loved and supported his family.  He was friendly and never met a stranger, sharing his life story with anyone who would listen.

Tim is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sharon Donohue; son, Matthew (Maggie) Donohue; grandchildren, Aspen Donohue, Olivia (Shyheim Townsend) Donohue and Sam Donohue; great-grandchildren, Josiah and Jais Townsend.  He is also survived by his brothers, Jim (Teresa) Donohue and Kevin (Shawn) Donohue; and sister, Marsha Fecht.  Tim was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, John and Tom Donohue.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at St. Matthew Catholic Church from 10am-12pm, with a Funeral Mass immediately following.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society or St. Matthew Catholic Church.
