Joseph Carl Sharp

Joseph Carl Sharp, 77, passed away peacefully May 24, 2017 at Westminster Village Indianapolis, with family by his side. He was born the 7th son of the 7th son on April 12, 1940, in McDowell County, West Virginia to the late Marshall Monroe and Minnie (Poff) Dunford.

Joe worked for Chrysler Corporation for 45 ½ years. He was a proud UAW member of Locals 1226 and 1166.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Arbutus (Kunkle) Sharp; daughter, Linda (Sharp) Myers; two grandchildren, Shelly (John) Benedick and Stacey (Kenny) Murphy; and six great grandchildren, Shelby, Ashley, and Abby Benedick, and Isabelle, Keegan, and Collin Murphy. He was preceded in death by six brothers.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Flanner and Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite). Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2017, and also from 12 noon until the time of service at the funeral home.
