John David "Dave" Ward

John David “Dave” Ward age 71 of Lawrence, Indiana passed away Monday, January 3rd, 2022 peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family.

Dave was born August 30, 1950 in Logan, West Virginia to the late John William Ward and Nettie Wells (Simpkins).

Dave was happily married to the love of his life, Lou Ann (Chunderlik) Ward on June 16, 1972.

Dave was a certified auto mechanic for General Motors from 1972 until 1996 when he embraced his entrepreneurial spirit and started his own companies in Market America as well as his own landscaping business. He was known for his love of nature, animals, and his friends.

He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed being out on the boat at his favorite fishing hole.

Dave is survived by his wife, Lou Ann Ward; his two children: Son, John (Christina) Ward Jr. of Lyles, Tennessee,and daughter, Donna (Shawn Rowland) Ward of Indianapolis, Indiana; brothers: Harold (Naomi) Ward of Henlawson, West Virginia, and Bryon Wells of Claypool, Indiana, and sister: Theresa (Ted) Flick of Martinsville, Indiana. He has two grandchildren: Liza (Jaron) Young and Jacob Terry; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Darrell Wells.

The family is forever grateful for all of the massive amount of heartfelt outreach all of Dave’s friends have shown. It has been a true blessing and an honor to know Dave has touched so many lives in such a positive way. In lieu of fresh cut flowers, the family has asked for plantable flowers as well, as Dave had such a love of gardening.
