January 22, 1945- June 28, 2017

John Clager, 72, of Greenfield, IN passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Kindred Hospital North in Indianapolis. John was born January 22, 1945, in Indianapolis, to his parents Harold Clager Sr. and Helen Clager (Lettelleir).

John attended Arsenal Tech High School. Then, showed his patriotism in his early adulthood where he joined and served in the Army for 3 Years. After retiring from the Army John attended IUPUI and Ivy Tech College where he learned about the trade of heating and air conditioning which he later used to go back to work for the government as a HVAC Tech.

After serving in the armed forces John’s love for his country and pride of being an Army man never ended. Along with his love for the Army he was also a big Indiana Hoosiers fan. John was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time on the water fishing with his children, David and Madonna. Along with fishing he loved doing anything outdoors. Cooking out and driving his John Deere tractor were some of his favorite things to do. While Lake Michigan was one of his favorite places to go. John was also a big family man, spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids are what mattered to him the most.

John is survived by his wife, Darlene Clager (Hooper); son, David Clager and wife, Dana Clager; daughter Madonna Clager; grandchildren, Zoe Clager and Jonathan Marin. John is also survived by his siblings; Harold Clager Jr., Judy Corpuz, Carol Price, and Cathy Clager.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Flanner & Buchanan -Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis. A memorial service will be held following at 3p.m. at the funeral home.

In Lieu Of Flowers donations can be made to The American Heart Association or The Wounded Warrior Project.
