Joan Key Pratt

Joan Key Pratt (Jo) passed away on Sunday, June 27^th, 2021 at Marquette Manor in Indianapolis.  Jo graduated from Indiana University in 1949, where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority, and later received her Master’s Degree from Butler University in 1965.

Jo’s teaching experience includes Indiana University, Rushville Public Schools, Lawrence Township, and 26 years at Grassy Creek Elementary in Warren Township.  Next to her family, Jo’s great passion was her students, their parents, and her teaching colleagues.

Jo was a devoted sports enthusiast.  You would often find her cheering on the Hoosiers, the Colts, the Pacers, and the Bulldogs.  And of course, she always had the perfect outfit for every occasion.

Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Lovell M. Pratt, and her two sisters, Marilyn Olson and Karen Key.  She is survived by her daughter Leslie Mills (Mark), and her granddaughter, Lawren Mills (Brad Rateike).

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.  If you would like to honor Jo, you may make a contribution in her name to The Marquette Manor Foundation, 8140 Township Line Road, Indianapolis, IN, 46260.  Her family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Marquette Manor for their kindness and compassion.
