Joan Irene Rose Jordan, 91, of Indianapolis passed away February 14, 2017. Joan was born in Indianapolis, IN on January 13, 1926 to the late James B. and Gladys (McConkey) Rose. She graduated from Indiana University in 1948 with a B.S. degree in Medical Technology. She worked for Dr. John Warvel for 2 years and then became a stay at home mom. She enjoyed reading, especially mystery stories, crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, soap operas and planning family trips. She was a founding member of Unity Truth Center in Indianapolis.
Joan is survived by her children: Connie Jordan Guyon (David), Kenneth Richard Jordan and Debbie Jordan; grandchildren: Sarah Guyon Gerrish (Paul), Andrea Guyon Elstro (Robert) and Matthew Guyon (Jessica); and 7 great-grandchildren: Bennett, Colton and Norah Gerrish, Hannah, Hailey and Logan Elstro, and Rylie Guyon. Her loving husband Richard H. “Dick” Jordan of 67 years preceded her in death last year.
Friends may call from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East, where her funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00pm. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Joan’s honor may be made to the American Cancer Society.
