Jerry Lynn Burris, 68, of New Palestine, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021. He was born on April 1, 1953 at Camp Atterbury to the late Herbert C. and Ora Lee (Conner) Burris. Jerry was a 1971 graduate of Shelbyville High School and spent two years in the U.S.M.C, which provided the foundation for the rest of his life. Jerry was a longtime small business owner still operating Midwest Tooling Solutions at the time of his death. He liked fishing and relaxing at home with loved ones, often including Matthew and Rachel’s friends who he treated as his own. Jerry enjoyed vacationing with family, even tolerating his grandsons dragging him all over Disney World on a regular basis.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 43 years, Denise (Pritchett) Burris; and children, Matthew Burris and Rachel (Michael) Lytle. He was a devoted Papaw to grandsons, Jacob and Jameson Lytle. Jerry is also survived by his siblings, Lesly (Michael) Losey, Mark (Norma) Burris, Scott (Ginnette) Burris; in-laws, Emily Taylor and Carl (Nancy) Pritchett; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Christopher Burris.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 3-6pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East with a funeral service immediately following.
