When Jeffrey lost his battle with cancer on Monday,January 25 he left the world a much better place. He is greatly missed by all who had theprivilege to have known him.

Jeff leaves behind his beloved wife, Mary Jane. While they only had limited years together,this time was immeasurably happy. Jeffentered this world on June 19, 1957, born in Martinsville, Indiana to the lateMarvin Eugene Peters and Carolyn Lea Hudelson Peters, who survives. In hisearly years Jeff attended and graduated from the Martinsville schools, traveledextensively through the American and Canadian West with his family, and learnedhis profound love of the outdoors. Asthe years went on, he earned a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering technologyfrom Purdue University and became a licensed civil engineer. He first worked forthe Indianapolis Water Company and later as a partner with M.D. WesslerEngineering. At the time of his passinghe was a Deputy Director of Carmel Water.

His colleagues knew Jeff as a gifted engineer who couldwork with persons at all levels of organizations. His calm demeanor solvedproblems and made projects work. He wasa long time member of the American Water Works Association and an officer inthe association’s Indiana chapter, rising to be their Chairperson. In 2014 he was honored as their “George WarrenFuller Award” the highest honor paid to a member. Jeff was an avid Harley rider and loved beinga part of the Water Buffalos, a group of water industry professionals who use theirmotorcycles to raise money for Water for People, a philanthropic organization forthird world water projects. He was alsoa proud member of the Sons of the American Legion, Post 230 in Martinsville.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Mary Jane, his motherCarolyn Peters of Martinsville, sister Dawn Uebel (Mark) of Martinsville,step-children Hannah Moehring of Riverside, California, Amy Hubbard (Phillip)of Indianapolis, Bryan Cales of Elkhart, Indiana, nephew Matthew Uebel of RoyalOak, Michigan, niece Amy Elizabeth Uebel of North Charleston, SC, andstep-grandchildren Natalie Lacey, Hailey Lacey, Tezia Hubbard, Selah Cales,Samuel Cales.

Friends may call on Saturday, January 30 at the Flannerand Buchanan- Zionsville, 105 W Pine St., from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. All are welcome to a memorial service on Sunday, January 31 at 2:00 PMat Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 3496 E.
