Jeffery Dean Hall

Jeffery “Jeff” Dean Hall passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 11, 2023 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loved ones when he joined his Father in Heaven.

Born in Indianapolis on January 19, 1959, Jeff was a proud Hoosier, spending the entirety of his life in the great State of Indiana. He graduated in the class of 1977 from New Palestine High School, where he met Denise Dockins. They married on June 6, 1981 and moved to Zionsville, IN, where they raised their five children: Jonathan, Austin, Griffin, Braden and Addison.

Jeff attended Indiana University, where he earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Finance and was a proud member of the Beta-Theta chapter of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Later in life, he served as President of the Housing Corporation of the chapter. He loved all things trees and wood, having spent most of his career in the lumber industry. He rose to become General Manager of Hall & House Lumber Company, working at the company for 33 years. Jeff was a member of the Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis for many years and respected as a leader in the Indianapolis homebuilding industry.

Jeff’s passion was building. Over the years he designed and led the construction of numerous homes where his family lived. He painted each of his houses with his own hands and paint brushes. He was a man of God, serving on many Great Banquet teams at Zionsville Presbyterian Church. He also loved nothing more than being on the water with his family — whether it be the ocean or a small lake — especially if he had a fishing pole in his hand. A day on the golf course was a close second.

He is survived by his wife, Denise (Dockins) Hall; his five children, Jonathan (Amanda) Hall, Austin (Katherine) Hall, Griffin Hall, Braden Hall and Addison Hall; his four grandchildren (Jackson, Ruby, Teddy and Parker); his parents, Rodger and Peggy (Thomas) Hall; and his sister, Debi (Tom) Tucker.

A celebration of life service for Jeff will be held at Zionsville Presbyterian Church (4775 West 116^th Street, Zionsville, IN 46077) on Saturday, February 18, at 10AM ET. A reception will immediately follow at Austin Oaks Clubhouse (11985 W 131^st St, Zionsville, IN 46077) at 11:30AM ET.
