Janet Harrold Neighbours

Janet Harrold Neighbours, 68 of Indianapolis, IN passed away on November 23, 2021.  Janet was born in New Castle, IN on December 29, 1952 to parents, William V. and Joy L. (Goble) Harrold.  She graduated from Knightstown High School and later attended Ball State University with a major in English.  She began her career in Business Development for the State of Indiana, and also worked for the city of Noblesville.  But, her true passion was her work with Child Advocates, where she was Director of Development for over two decades.  She also volunteered as a court appointed special advocate for 13 years.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Owen Jones Neighbours III; father, William Harrold; and brother Phil Harrold.  She will be lovingly missed by her mother, Joy Harrold; her step-children, Owen Neighbours, Peter Neighbours (Wendy), and Katie Neighbours (Gwen Hicks); grand-children: Sam, Jack, Annamarie and Parker Neighbours; sister-in-law, Nancy Harrold; nephew, Brad Harrold (Angie); niece, Amanda Burris; and great-nieces and nephews, Josh and Cindy Harrold and Evan, Ella and Sadie Burris; as well as many other beloved extended family members and friends.

Janet enjoyed travelling with her husband Owen, especially trips to Northern Michigan.  She was always the devoted co-captain, spinning their favorite tunes.  She was an avid reader and loved spending time with family and friends.  Her kindness and compassion were a roadmap for the family to follow.  Her kind heart and loving spirit will be greatly missed.

Friends may call from 10 am until 12 noon on Sunday, November 28, at Flanner Buchanan- Broad Ripple, 1305 Broad Ripple Avenue, where funeral services will immediately follow, beginning at 12 noon.  Burial will follow services at Washington Park North Cemetery.  A celebration will follow at the Knights of Columbus, 71^st and Keystone, from 1pm to 5pm.
