Jane E. Shaw, 80, of Carmel and formerly of Anderson, passed away August 17, 2017. She was born January 6, 1937, in Toledo, OH, the daughter of the late George E. and Lulu May (Sweet) Korb.
Jane was a graduate of Broad Ripple High School and attended Hanover College, where she met Coyle L. Shaw. They were married August 11, 1956. He preceded her in death on November 13, 2015, after 58 years of marriage.
Jane was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church in Anderson, where she served as an elder, a deacon, a trustee and a Sunday school teacher. She also belonged to Tri Kappa and Alpha Delta Pi. She enjoyed playing the piano and loved animals.
She is survived by two children, Julie (Mark) Bruner and George (Madolyn) Shaw; six grandchildren, Alexandra Bovis, Jacob, Sam, and Elaine Shaw, Reid Bruner, and Jennifer (Mike) Giancola; two great grandchildren, Megan and Sam Giancola; sister, Mary Lou Kuhn; sister-in-law, Marene Kellems; niece, Deana (David) Simon; and nephew, Kevin Kellems.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 25, 2017, at Flanner and Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church, 230 West 9th Street, Anderson, IN 46016 or to the American Cancer Society.
