James N Hantzis, Jr., 66 of Plainfield, passed away at home with his sisters by his side on Sunday, April 3, 2022. Jimmy was born September 9, 1955 in Indianapolis, IN to James N Hantzis, Sr. and Helen R (Maple) Hantzis. He attended the Noble Schools of Indiana and graduated to Noble Industries in 1973. While at Noble Industries, Jimmy truly enjoyed working in the Greenhouse. A highlight was when he was selected to go on plant sales at local companies. He secured his dream job at Santorini’s Greek Kitchen in Fountain Square. While employed there, he won the Sycamore Services Employee of the Year in 2008. Jimmy mastered the Indy Go bus system which provided him great independence. He was always in tune with what was going on around town. He loved people and always had a smile for everyone he met. Jimmy was a member of Abundant Life Church under Pastor Vibbert for many years. He has been active at Life Tabernacle Church under the leadership of Pastor Danny McAdams for the past 18 years. Jimmy believed strongly in the power of prayer. He was a fervent prayer warrior and his love for Jesus shown in every stage of his life. He trusted that Jesus was with him no matter what the journey, in the triumphs and the challenges. Survivors include his sisters, Shirley Halterman (Dave) and Sandee Keller of Plainfield IN, his nephews Bryan Halterman (Allison) of Plainfield IN and Adam Keller (Jenn) of Noblesville IN, his great nephews Jacob Halterman and Noah Halterman and great nieces, Zoey Keller and Anastasia Keller. Special appreciation to the wonderful care provided over the past few years by his First Horizons Home Health Aids; Audre Word, LeAndre Level, and Jacob Halterman. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Leonard Keller.
