James "Jim" R. Heath

James “Jim” Robert Heath, 83, of Indianapolis Indiana, passed away on February 3, 2023. He was born on December 12, 1939, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to parents, Robert C. Heath and Beulah M. (Zinkler) Heath.

On November 21, 1962, Jim married the love of his life, Patricia “Pat” (Erwood) Heath. They spent a loving 60 years together.

Jim dedicated 32 years of his life working as a police officer for Indianapolis Police Department and retired in 1999.

Jim was a part of many memberships including, FOP Lodge 86, a life member and NRA Master Instructor, Sigma Nu Fraternity – Butler, Acton Masonic Lodge, York Rite, Scottish Rite, and the Oklahoma Farriers College. On Sundays, Jim and Pat loved to attend Grace Point Church together. Jim was also a business owner of Custom Cop.

Jim enjoyed his grandchildren, family, football, and teaching people gun safety and training. He also enjoyed his farm and being outside.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Patricia K. Heath; children, Robert C. (Jennifer) Heath and Rodney C. Heath; grandchildren, Jenna (Justin) Mollo, Quinn Heath, Morgan (Chris) Heath Smith, Darren Sexton, and Taylor Heath; 4 great-grandchildren; and many other friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Beulah Heath.

Visitation for Jim will be from 10a-12pm on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East – 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229, with a funeral service immediately following at 12pm. Burial will be private.
