James C. Porter

James C. Porter, 87, of Greenfield, IN passed away on June 13, 2022.  James was born in Portland, TN on November 13, 1934 to parents, Pascal B. and Ethel C. (Mathias) Porter. During his career, James was a self-employed mechanic for 50 years.  He was a member of Aldersgate Free Methodist Church and especially enjoyed his Mondays spent with other retired men of the church and working on various projects.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Pascal and Ethel Porter and five sisters.

James is survived by his wife of 68 years, Loyce D. (Wade) Porter, whom he married on May 29, 1954; daughters, Lynetta D. Likens (John) and Alisa G. Gammons (Kevin); 5 grandchildren: Jason, Jeremy, James, Devin, and Lilly; 2 great-grandchildren, Jaece and Jameson; and many other loving extended members and beloved friends.

Visitation will be held from 4pm until 7pm, Friday, June 17, 2022 at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East (10722 E. Washington Street, Indpls), where funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 18, 2022. Burial will follow Saturday’s service in Washington Park East Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in James’ memory to Aldersgate Free Methodist Church.
