James Anthony "Tony" Moss

James Anthony “Tony” Moss, 67 of Indianapolis, passed away on June 7, 2019.  He was born on February 21, 1952 in Benham, Kentucky to the late Lester Carl and Nannie Louise Moss.

Tony graduated from Southwestern High School, class of 1971.  He also enlisted in the Airforce from November 1971-1975.  He then went on to work as a supervisor at Fisher Body Plant in Flint, Michigan. Tony enjoyed traveling, fishing, and bowling. He loved sports, especially boxing, football and basketball.  Most of all, Tony enjoyed cookouts and spending time with family and friends.

Tony is survived by his wife of 39 years, Valerie (Lewis) Moss of Indianapolis, IN; his daughters, Ja’Neice Moss of Indianapolis, IN and Jasmine Gasaway of Flint, MI; his granddaughters, Jai’yana Moss of Indianapolis, IN, and Aubree Hawkins of Flint, MI; stepmother, Mildred Moss of MI; his brothers, William Moss of San Antonio, TX, Kenneth (Patricia) Moss of Clio, MI, Gregory Moss of Dayton OH, Curtis (Quandra) Moss of Flint, MI, and Wendell Moss of Flint, MI; sister, Lesterisha (Shawn) of Monroe, MI; father-in-law, Lessie Yarbrough of Las Vegas, NV; brother-in-law’s, William Vaughn of Atlanta, GA, Rev. Anthony Holland of VA, Antwaine Poplar of Flint, MI, Rev. Lessie Paul Lee (Latrice) of Flint, MI, and Andrew William (Cynthia) of Garden, MA; sister-in-law’s, Marsha (Robert) Wilson of Atlanta, GA, and Myrtle Thomas of Arlington, TX; aunts, Anna Mullen, Armenia Ashby, and Jean Mason, all of Cleveland, OH, Patricia (Woody) Smith of Lancaster, KY; uncles, Odell Moss of Lexington, KY, and Rev. Dr. Edgar Moss of New Haven, CT; aunt-in-law’s, Madge Holiday, Luvenia Lowe, and Ella Mae Lewis, all of Flint, MI; special nieces, Diana Callahan, Janay Moss, and Suquondra Martin; and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in passing by his parents, Lester Carl and Nannie Louise Moss; and his brother, David Moss.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Flanner Buchanan-Speedway, 2950 N. High School Rd., from 4-7PM.  Funeral services will be in Flint Michigan on Saturday, June 15th, 2019.
