James A Wallace

December 30, 1899 — January 2, 2016

James A Wallace, known to his friends as Jim, passedaway January 2, 2016. He was born in Havre De Grace, MD on November 30, 1964 toJewell (DiDomenico) and James Wallace. He was preceded in death by hisgrandparents Albert and Jewell DiDomenico, his mother Jewell Alberta Gallatin,his grandparents Virginia and Elmer Wallace, his grandmother Joyce Wall and hisstep brother Everette Clayton Applegate..

Your first thought when seeing Jim was probably hissmile, second may have been his beautiful brown eyes. Jim touched the lives ofmany during his time on earth. Maybe you met him through a family member orfriend, through Riley or maybe through a charity event you shared but, howeveryou were blessed to make his acquaintance we can all agree that he was one ofthe most compassionate and loving individuals you ever knew.

Jim worked at Riley Hospital in theEndocrinology/Diabetes Department as a Patient Care Tech. He was studyingSocial Work at IUPUI, but during his illness had to stop his education. Hegraduated from a small high school in Belton, TX where he played the clarinetin the marching band.

He was stationed in Germany for four years in the80's. He was recently honored for his service in the US Army with a brickcontaining his information engraved on it and it was placed at the south end ofthe Soldiers & Sailors Monument on the Circle in downtown Indianapolis, IN.He was very proud of this and the moment was shared by many friends and familyand afterwards he wanted to go to Shapiros Deli for lunch. Anyone from Indyknows that's the only place to go for a really good sandwich.

Jim and Scott, his partner for 18 years were finallyable to marry on July 14,2012 in Decorah, IA. That was a wonderful time theyshared with many family members and close friends surrounding them.

Jim participated in several charity events, toonumerous to mention, if you had a cause, or there was a need he was glad tohelp. Jim loved nature and he chose to have a green burial. He wanted to returnto the earth that he so loved. He will be buried in a wooded area he chose. Heloved animals of all kinds and shared these last years with his constantcompanion a beagle named Samson. Jim loved children of all ages. He was often abig kid with them, playing the Wll or watching television together, sometimesit was an afternoon planting in the yard. Jim's life was forever changed by alittle girl nicknamed MJ. Their time together was too short, but he got toshare it with Scott. They experienced being a father to a precious innocentbaby named Virginia Mae Jewell. She forever held a special place in Jim'sheart.

Jim battled cancer with a smile and a determinationfew could imagine. He wanted to live every moment on this earth to the fullest.He had so many special friends that he loved to share moments with, sometimesduring a charity run or event, sometimes at dinner, sometimes just sharing timetogether. He loved to travel and was able to go on a trip to Europe in 2014,shortly after being diagnosed.

Jim is survived by his spouse ScottWall, Cathy Wall (Mom), Virginia Guy (Grandmother) James Wallace (Father), Pat(Ray) Sires (Mother), Jamie (Robert) Beaver (Sister). Numerous aunts, uncles,nieces and nephews. Several cousins and great cousins. Many good friends andco-workers.

Jim was a member of GreenwoodUnited Methodist Church. His service will be officiated by Pastor In SukPeebles and Pastor Mike Biggs. The family would like to extend theirappreciation to St. Francis Hospice personnel for their loving care andsupport.

Visitation will be held January 6,2016 from 5PM-8PM at Greenwood United Methodist Church, 525 N Madison Ave, Greenwood, IN 46142. Anadditional Visitation will be held at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington ParkNorth, 2706 Kessler Blvd West Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46228 on Thursday,January 7, 2016 from 11AM-12PM.
