Jackie Dean Carney

Jackie Dean Carney, 80, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away on February 28, 2023. He was born on December 8, 1942, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to parents, Earl D. Carney and Dorothy V. (Silcox) Carney.

On December 4, 1963, Jackie married the love of his life, Evelyne (Bailey) Carney, sharing a loving 59 years together.

Jackie attended Harry E. Wood High School. He met his wife of almost 60 years when he drove a truck for Gregg Cleaners, where Evelyne worked. He then graduated with an associate’s degree from Lincoln Tech. He worked for several years at Indiana Gear Works and then several more years at Wolfe & Swickard as a machinist before his retirement.

Jackie was a very strong Christian man full of faith. He attended Calvary Baptist Church in Greenfield, Indiana. He was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was very devoted to his family. He was always ready to help anyone in need. He loved to work on just about anything, especially cars.

Through his strong faith and everyone who has prayed for him, he was able to survive for almost 4 years with pancreatic cancer. He has earned his rewards in Heaven, anyone who knew him loved him. He is finally at peace now in the arms of his loving Heavenly father.

Jackie is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Evelyne Carney; children, Robin Parmley and Tracey (Jay) German; grandchildren, Adrian Barnett (Samantha Carter), Jaquelynn Parmley (Josh Duncan), Bailey German, Hunter German, and Aubrey German; great-grandchildren, Elijah Dean Demaree-Barnett, Keagan Barnett, and Rosalina Duncan; and brother, Tom (Alice) Carney.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl D. and Dorothy V. Carney, and brothers, Robert Lee Carney and Jerry Earl Carney.

Visitation for Jackie will be from 12-2pm on Monday, March 6, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East – 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229, with a funeral service immediately following at 2pm. Burial will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery.
