On the afternoon of April10, 2016, Guy passed away at Community Hospital East, surrounded by family,after a brief battle with cancer. He was 67 years old. He was born on May 3, 1948 in Indianapolisto James Robert and Pauline (McGary)Reed. After graduating high school, Guyserved his country honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He thenspent most of his career in financial services. Golf was his passion. Even while away from thecourse, he perfected his swing on a computer golf game. He also enjoyed playingtennis, dining out, taking photos, and following politics. Guy also loved traveling with hisfamily, and he planned regular vacations to the beach. He discovered cruisevacations about a decade ago and never missed a chance to set sail for a newCaribbean island. Until the very end, he was planning a family cruise for laterthis year. Though he was a private man,his faith was strong, and he saw life through the lens of eternal optimism. Hewas loyal, thoughtful, and generous, always putting the needs of his familyabove his own.

Guy is survived by hiswife of 46 years, Janet (Totten) Reed; his sons, Ryan Reed (Amanda) and RossReed (Telisa); his granddaughter, Lauren Reed; his siblings, Shawn, Raymond,and Raina; his sister-in-law, Phyllis Kappes; several nieces and nephews; andmany friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service for Guywill be held at Flanner and Buchanan-Memorial Park, 9350 East WashingtonStreet, Indianapolis, IN 46229 at 3:00PM on Friday, April 15, 2016, officiated by Rev. Robert McMillan, withvisitation starting at 1:00 PM on the same day. The service will be followed bya coffee and dessert reception in the same location.
