Gregory Kent, the oldest of Erma and Samuel Kent, Sr. was born August 1, 1950, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
He attended and graduated from Washington High School, where he graduated in 1969.
From there he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served his country proudly. He was honorably discharged in the early ’70s.
Once returning from Vietnam, he then worked 30 years for General Motors and Allison Transmission. With the transition of the car industry, GM was bought by the ONYX Corporation where Gregory continued to serve for 15 more years.
Gregory was blessed with only one child, Khirstina M. Kent on February 29, 1972. Gregory never had any other children, however his nephew, Samuel Kent, III was the son he always wanted and had a strong bond with up until his passing.
Gregory, following in his mother’s footsteps, was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church and later became a devote Jehovah’s Witnesses where he remained faithful until his passing.
Gregory believed in living life to the fullest. Gregory also believed in the importance of educating yourself and always looking to obtain knowledge.
Gregory Kent departed this life on Saturday, May 21st, 2022. His parents and sister, Barbara Hagan preceded him in death.
Gregory Kent’s memory will live on in all those that knew him and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Khirstina M. Kent, and his nephew, Samuel Kent, III (Kimberly). He will be missed by his siblings; Samuel Kent Jr. (Cynthia), Anthony Kent (Dylena), Gloria Haynes (Clint), and Ronald Bracey (Jackie), Aunt Ethel Harden; a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and other close family and friends.
