Gladys Bennett

Gladys Bennett, born on September 18, 1923 in Jamestown, Tennessee, passed away in Indianapolis, Indiana on January 3, 2020 at the age of 96 years old.

Gladys was the daughter of the late Imon Walker Stocton and the late Vada Mae Hurst. She was married to the late Robert Lee Bennett for 53 years, whom sadly passed away on December 12, 1999.

Gladys worked for many years at Balkamp Distribution Center in Indianapolis, eventually retiring in the 1990s. She was also previously a member of Church of Nazarene Southport.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Imon Stocton and Vada Hurst; her loving husband, Robert Lee Bennett; her son, Robert Carl Bennett; and her daughter, Alice Lynn Bennett. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Steven Lee Bennett, and Mark Wayne Bennett; 9 Grandchildren; 12 Great-Grandchildren; and 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 11am – 1pm at Flanner Buchanan – Floral Park. Funeral Service begin at 1pm on Thursday, January 9, 2020 with burial to immediately follow at Floral Park Cemetery.
