Gina Howald

January 5, 1957 — October 8, 2022

Gina Louise Howald, 65, passed away unexpectedly on October 8, 2022, after a brief hospital stay at Community Heart Hospital, her family by her side. She was born on January 5, 1957, in Indianapolis, the youngest child of her loving mother, Vincenza “Jennie” Bernardo, and her father, Achille “Kelly” Angelicchio. She met the love of her life, Larry, when she was 14 years old while vacationing in Spain on separate family vacations. They were inseparable from that point on and recently celebrated 45 years of marriage.

Gina was a woman of many talents and held several jobs in which she excelled. Firstly, and most importantly, she was a loving and devoted mother to her four daughters, and the most treasured Gigi to her four grandchildren, the jobs she cherished most. She rarely went anywhere without her sidekick, her boxer, Mojo. She spent several years as a real estate agent for Century 21, then went on to coach varsity cheerleading at North Central High School. Later in life, she found her true calling. She thrived as an event/wedding planner, and had a rare gift of creating unimaginable, breathtaking, and magical floral arrangements for events of all kinds. Brides flocked to her, wanting THE Gina Howald to plan their special day. With the help of her partner, Lori Christy, and her amazing team (as she called them), every wedding was more than special and each as unique as the brides and grooms themselves.

Gina was a woman of grace and selflessness, of passion and compassion. She will always be remembered for the unconditional love she held for every person in her life. She touched thousands of lives by simply being and giving herself. She was often described as a living angel and saint, and she will be revered as such.

She was preceded in death by her parents and eldest brother, Domenic Angelicchio. She is survived by her loving husband, Larry Howald; daughters, Angie Howald, Hayley (James Miller) Howald, Mary (Dan) Flickinger, Jessi (Jeff) Edwards; grandchildren, Jagger, Gavin, Vivie, Joey; brother, Louis (Judy) Angelicchio; sister, Maria (William) Parham; Domenic’s wife, Pat; former son-in-law and friend, Scott Farrell; half-sister, Julie (Freddy) Dixon; beloved nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Michael, Brian, Shawn, Jason, Nick, Izzy, Echo, Kelly, Caroline; and countless cousins.
