Gary Michael Fitzgerald

Gary “Mike” Michael Fitzgerald of Indianapolis passed away on April 3, 2020. He lost his fight to Covid-19 early Friday evening. He was born on November 26, 1946 to William and Dorothy Fitzgerald of Indianapolis, Indiana. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.

Mike was a 1965 graduate of Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army.  He married his wife,Vicki Schmidt, in 1969 and were fortunate enough to recently celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. They raised two amazing sons together, Michael and Timothy.  Mike was a long time employee and plant manager at St. Regis Culvert of Indianapolis. Spending time with his four grandchildren was his biggest passion. He enjoyed watching all of them play numerous sports. Mike loved playing games of all kinds, especially Words With Friends and poker with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki. Son, Tim. Daughter-in-law, Katy. Grandchildren; Kyle, Tatum, Brady and Bennett. Siblings; Larry Fitzgerald, Diane Hancock, Debbie Teschendorf. Along with several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Dorothy Fitzgerald, and son, Michael.

Private services will be held by the family at a later date.
