Gary F. Kleis

Gary F. Kleis, 65, of Indianapolis, passed away April 9, 2017. He was born December 26, 1951 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Louis H. and Marcia (Wood) Kleis. After graduating from Ben Davis High School, Class of 1970, he was proud to have served in the US Air Force as an air traffic controller. Gary retired in 2013 from the Indiana State Department of Transportation after years of working as an Application Systems Analyst/Programmer. He enjoyed home remodeling projects, spending time with his family and, always the devoted father, traditional Indiana State Fair visits with his daughter.

He is preceded in death by his mother and brother, Lt. Thomas L. Kleis. Surviving to cherish his memory are his daughter, Melissa Kleis and son-in-law, C. Travis Bunner; father, Louis Kleis; brother, John E. Kleis (Donna); sister-in-law, Marty Kleis-Iaria; and nieces and nephew.
Friends may visit from 5-7:30PM, Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Flanner and Buchanan – Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Road, Indianapolis 46222. The funeral service with Military Honors will be at 10AM Friday, April 14, 2017 at Floral Park with visitation from 9-10AM. Friends may sign his online guest registry at www.flannerbuchanan.com.
