Gabriel Anthony Davis Sims was born on June 29, 2001, to Shannon and Anthony Sims, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He passed away on June 13, 2022.
Gabriel had a degenerative terminal illness called Spinocerebellar Alaxia (SCA) and Mitochondrial Disease. As Gabriel’s illness progressed, he maintained an attitude of grace. He was kind and always had a smile for everyone.
Gabriel lived in Pendleton, Indiana and was a part of South Madison County School Corporation. He attended Maple Ridge Elementary School, Pendleton Heights Middle School, and received a certificate of completion from Pendleton Heights High School, Class of 2021. He was a member of Best Buddies and participated in many events including A Walk for Inclusion.
Gabriel loved playing video games alone and with his brothers Michael and Finn. He was a huge dinosaur enthusiast and wanted to be a paleontologist. Gabriel loved art and had an uncanny way with colors.
Gabriel is survived by his parents, Shannon and Anthony Sims; Brothers, Michael A. Day II and Finn SI Darling. He is additionally survived by his Aunt Cherry Hardy, Aunt Peaches and Uncle Vaughn Masterson and Rionna Thornton, as well as Uncle Jon and Aunt Julie Hall; Uncle William and Aunt Diane Hall; and cousins, Taylor, Travis, Brett, Colby, and Jordan Hall; and their wives and children.
A sharing of memories will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, June 23rd, 2022 at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229 with cremation to follow. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until time of service.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Best Buddies Indiana.
