Frederick Riley Tipton II,
88, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018. He was born on March 3, 1930 in Brazil, Indiana to Frederick Sr. and Cora Tipton. Frederick attended Brazil High School and grew up to enjoy the tranquil time at the family cabin in Bowling Green, Indiana. At the cabin, Frederick enjoyed fishing, gardening and boating. He was a part of Masonic Lodge #669 for over 50 years. He and his loving wife of 40 years, Helen Tipton, enjoyed traveling all over the United States. They went to every state except Alaska. Frederick retired from Allison Transmissions Plant 12/14 after dedicating 42 years. He was a family man until the day he died. He will be sorely missed by all.
Frederick was preceded in death by siblings, Pete Tipton, Ross Tipton, and Ruby Perry. He is survived by his wife, Helen; children, Steve Tipton (Carolyn), Ken Tipton (Gayle), and Kathy Potter; step-daughter, Brenda Hendricks (Gerald); siblings, Donald Tipton and Irene Bingham; 7 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 11am-1pm at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation, 191 Waukegan Road, Ste 105, Northfield, Illinois 60093.
