Ellen Louise Froeschner, 70, of Carmel, passed away February 14, 2015. She was born February 23, 1944 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of the late Richard and Elsie (Herbold) Froeschner.
Ellen held a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. She also served the US Army as a civilian computer programmer at the Pentagon in Washington DC and in the Panama Canal Zone. Upon her retirement, she worked as a volunteer for various programs. She was an active member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church and volunteered several days a week in the Kindergarten and Mom's Day Out programs. In addition to her enthusiasm for working with children, she had a special love of animals, especially dogs.
She is survived by her sister Kay Mickelson, her nephew Eric Mickelson, her niece Ann Hopkins, her great-nephew Dylan and her great-niece Erica.
A memorial mass will be held March 6, 2015 at 9:30 AM at St. Elizabeth Seaton Catholic Church, 10655 Haverstick Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Church.
