Ellen Kinnee

Ellen Kinnee, 94, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away March 10^th, 2023. She was born in Sioux City, Iowa, January 19^th, 1929, to parents Alva and Leila (Johns) Coleman.

On December 23^rd, 1948, Ellen married the love of her life, Rundell Kinnee. They shared 45 wonderful years together. Rundell passed away in 1993.

She worked for Cigna Insurance Company for many years before retiring.

Ellen was a valued member of First Baptist Church in Greenwood, Indiana. Her faith was very important to her. She looked forward to Bible Study, and found comfort reading her Bible.

Ellen was a strong, loving lady. In her younger years, she was an excellent cook, and enjoyed searching for and clipping new recipes to try. She loved listening to music and was an avid reader. On sunny days, you could find her snuggled up on her canopy swing with her dog, Cali.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Ellen is survived by her children Susan L. May, Sandy Kinnee, Kevin B. (Janet) Kinnee, and Darrell “Zane” (Sherry) Kinnee; daughter-in-law Bonnie Kinnee; grandchildren Malyssa May, Nancy Sue Sams, Sandra Ellen Kinnee, Steven Kinnee, Kevin Johnson Kinnee, Greg Johnson, and Jim Kinnee; many great-grandchildren; and her pup, Cali.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Rundell; her son Tom A. Kinnee; and grandson Brian Kinnee.

Visitation for Ellen will be Tuesday, March 21^st, at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East, from 1-3pm. Her funeral will begin at 3pm. She will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
