Edwin Leon Haines

Edwin Leon Haines, 95 and 10 months of Fountaintown, Indiana passed away peacefully at his home on October 26, 2022.

He was born on December 23, 1926, in Indianapolis, to John and Ada Lucille Haines.

He has 3 honorable discharges from the Army and Airforce. He is retired from Western Electric where he worked as a Buyer.

He moved out to a rural area telling God he needed elbow room but for the last year he said he didn’t need elbow room anymore and he was ready for God to take him.

He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia, his two sons Edwin and Richard, Daughter in-law Donna, grandchildren Scott and Lisa and four great grandchildren Ryan, Taylor, Abigail and Sierra as well as his grandson’s wife Sara. He will also be greatly missed by his dog Danny.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dewey and Ada Lucille; His wife Mary-Lou and grandson Mike.

Funeral service will be held Friday, November 11, 2022, 12:30pm at Cumberland Christian Church, 39 North Starter Street, Cumberland, Indiana, 46229 with burial to follow in New Palestine Cemetery. Friends are encouraged to come for visiting time from 11:30 a.m. until time of service. Anyone who wishes to speak during the service should contact Minister Tom Scott at 317-894-3756

Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Cumberland Christian Church where he worshipped, got spiritual support and companionship.
