Later Doris worked for three years at the Union Trust Company where she issued stocks and bonds along with figuring interest on checks and mailing them to the shareholders.
Next she worked at the Indianapolis Times where she met her husband, Francis Ward. While being a stay-at-home mom she lead a girl’s 4-H club and ran an Indianapolis Times paper route. After several years at home, she then worked for the U.S. Post Office for 24 years.
Doris is survived by 7 children and their families, Steve (Connie) Ward, Stan (Carol) Ward, Sue (Joe) Griffith, Phil (Deb) Ward, Alicia (Brian) Craig, Cathy (Dan) Wendorff, Mark (Heather) Ward, 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, her sister Rita Ellis and her family along with many nieces and nephews.
