Donald E. Beuke

Donald E. Beuke, 96, a lifelong resident of Indianapolis passed away on Wednesday, January 25 at his residence. He was born in Indianapolis, the son of Henry and Aurelia (Lentz) Beuke. Don attended Washington High School and DePauw University. He was a member of the Brickyard Golf Course, American Legion Post 497 and Washington High School Alumni Association. Don served in World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was a long- standing member of Ironworkers Union 22 and was nicknamed by his family and friends as “Mr. Indianapolis” for his passion of promoting and volunteering for many of the major sporting events. Don was so proud of being the oldest volunteer at 91 for Super Bowl XLVI.

After returning from World War II, he married Norma Roeder and they had five children, Donald T. (Lou Ann), Broken Arrow, OK, Richard (Torey), Pittsburgh, PA, Debra (Keith), West Palm Beach, FL, Denise (Dave), Gainesville, FL, and Doug, Denver, CO. Don is also survived by his sister, Helen Hubbell of Avon and his brother, Robert Beuke of Avon; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma, his brother, Col. Henry Beuke, and his sister, Velma Plummer.

Visitation will be on Sunday, January 29 from 11 AM – 1 PM at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd. West Drive, with funeral services at 1 PM. A tribute to Don’s life may be viewed online at www.flannerbuchanan.com, where condolences may be shared with his family.
