Dixie Pauline Sheridan

Dixie Pauline Sheridan, also known as Dixie Pauline Puckett, entered into her eternal home October 29th at 5:45 AM. Dixie was born June 7, 1930, in Johnson County, Kentucky to the late Roscoe and Vergie Gullett.

Dixie graduated from high school at the age of 16 in 1947 and then attended Belmont College in Nashville, Tennessee. Upon graduation, she began her insurance career with Great American Insurance Company, also located in Nashville, Tennessee. She later relocated with her children to indianapolis, Indiana in 1964 and continued her insurance career at American States Insurance Company, later Safeco Insurance, where she rose to the position of Territorial Underwriting Manager before her retirement on June 30th, 1992, in Springfield, Ohio.

Dixie is survived by her son, Michael D. Puckett and his wife Patricia, her daughter-in-law, Kathleen Puckett, devoted nieces, Rose Jefferies and Lorie Williams Vaughn, six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Dixie was preceded in death by first husband, Tandy Puckett, and second husband Bernal Sheridan; her son, Terry Puckett and her six sisters, Jewell Rowland, Maggie Williams, Ruby Liebel, Sarah Gullett, Lexie Gullett, and Neva Salyers; and her brothers, J.D. Gullett and Elmer Gullett.

In 2011, Dixie became a member of the Thompson Road Baptist Church. Her memorial service will be held at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana, at 10 AM with calling one hour prior to service.
