Cynthia Jo Jansen

Cynthia Jo Hoyt Jansen, 62, of Zionsville, passed peacefully at home on July 2, 2018. She was born on February 25, 1956 in Indianapolis to Philip Andrew and Virginia S. Hoyt.

Cindy was a graduate of Broad Ripple High School, Indianapolis and Indiana University. An elementary school librarian for over 20 years, she was loved for her ability to read stories with character voices for the children of Union Elementary school in Zionsville. She also loved little league baseball and frequently assisted at games reminding little sluggers, “sit in your batting order.”

Cynthia was preceded in passing by her father, Philip Andrew Hoyt. She is survived by her loving husband, Maurice B. Jansen; children, Adam Christopher (Jennifer), Indianapolis, IN; James Walter, Fishers, IN; and Christian Andrew (Heather), Zionsville, IN.; grandchildren, Henry James, Caroline Anna, Frances Kate, Graham Hoyt, Charlotte Josephine, Christopher Philip, and Amelia Ruth; her mother, Virginia Hoyt, Indianapolis, IN; siblings, Micheal Hoyt, Katherine Fisher, and Janas Hoyt Westcott.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 6 – 8 pm at First Baptist Church of Indianapolis, 8600 North College Avenue. An 11:30 am visitation time will also precede the service on Friday, July 6 at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Indianapolis. Burial will follow at Zionsville Cemetery
