Cynthia Clampitt

Cynthia Clampitt, 68 of Speedway passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday morning June 28, 2017.

Cynthia was born April 23, 1949 in Terre Haute, IN to Wayne and Donna Knudsen. She married John Clampitt, also of Terre Haute, June 24, 1977.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years John Clampitt; 3 sons Eric (Jen) Fuqua, Shane Clampitt, and JD Clampitt; 3 grandchildren Tyler Fuqua, Emily Fuqua, and Hayli Clampitt; and 3 siblings Deb Knudsen, Rhonda Stapert, and Rob Knudsen.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents.

Mrs. Clampitt was a graduate of Wiley H.S. and Indiana State University. She followed her studies into teaching where 25+ years later she retired from Avon Schools. Following retirement, she was a substitute teacher with the Speedway Schools helping countless children with their education.

Cyndi was a member of the Speedway United Methodist Church and active for years with the Speedway Athletic Booster Club.

She enjoyed cooking, reading, laying by the beach and pool, attending ballgames, but most importantly spending time with her husband, family and friends. Cyndi Clampitt was the best daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother anyone could ever ask for.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, July 2 at 3 PM with a Memorial Gathering 1 PM until the time of service at Flanner and Buchanan – Speedway, 2950 N. High School Road, Speedway.
