CherylHaines Sinkovic, mother of three, grandmother of two, sister of one, and friendto us all, ended her long and courageous battle with cancer surrounded by herchildren, on Thursday, June 30th at her home in Indianapolis. An R.N. with aresume that spanned nearly forty years and included everything from clinical& administration to recruitment & home health management, she changedand saved countless lives, most recently with Indiana University Health. Shewas also rigorously involved with an array of volunteer groups, most notablyThe Methodist Hospital Task Core, where she served as board member, membershipchair and vice-president; The IU Simon Cancer Center, where she was an advisoryboard member; The Indianapolis Great Banquet, where she was a speaker and teamleader; The Junior League of Indianapolis; Nursing 2000; and The Hoosier Sailand Power Squadron, serving as Administrative Officer. She enjoyed sailing onGeist Reservoir, traveling around the world, gardening, singing, hostingunforgettable parties, and most notably, being the best mother that two sonsand a daughter could ever have.

She issurvived by her children: her son, William (Bill) Mathias Sinkovic & hiswife, Crissa; son, Thomas (Tom) Haines Sinkovic; and daughter, Rebecca (Becky)Elaine Sinkovic. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tade Mathias Layden(10) and Calla Rose Sinkovic (2). She was preceded in death by her husband,Gerald Mathias Sinkovic, M.D. (The Doctor and Great Instigator), and herparents, William and Carolyn Haines.

Visitation andfuneral service will be held at Castleton United Methodist Church, 7101Shadeland Ave., Indianapolis, IN, 46256 on Tuesday, July 5th, with visitationstarting at 10 am, followed by the service at noon.
