Charles J. Waterman

Charles J. Waterman passed away at his daughter’s home in McCordsville on Monday, January 22 at the age of 89. Charlie was born in Indianapolis to John C. and Lettie I. (Carnes) Waterman. He worked at Kibler Trucking and later retired from Roadway Trucking. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, Mason 32^nd Degree of the Engelwood Lodge, Teamsters 135 Retiree Club, Hoosier Model T, and Indianapolis Model A Clubs. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Bertha M. (Seifert) Waterman; son Jeffrey R. C. Waterman; sister Mary E. Waterman, brother-in-law Jimmie Bishop; half-brother Paul Buffington; and nephew David Bishop. Charlie was the caring father of Cheryl K. Jones and Kathie L. (Robert) Marcellus; grandfather to James C. and Angela (Summers) Pope; papaw to Lauren, Austin, and Gracie Pope; brother to Carol Bishop; and uncle to Steve (Lori) Bishop. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, January 31 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in the Masonic Garden, Greenwood. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the McCordsville Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 26, McCordsville, IN 46055.
