Charlene Marckese

February 18, 1942 — October 31, 2016

Charlene Marckese, 74, Noblesville, formerly of Valparaiso, passed away October 31, 2016 surrounded by love and prayer. She was born February 18, 1942, in Gary, the daughter of the late George and Helen Fabian.

Charlene retired in 2015, from the Porter County Sheriff’s Department after 30 years of dedicated service as secretary to the detective bureau. She thought of each of the detectives she was honored to work with as a son.

She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Samuel F. Marckese; daughter, Amy (Tony )Marckese-Braun; grandson, Dominic; two step grandsons, Beau and Tommy; Janette Bonomo, who was like a mother to her; two brothers, Don (Mary) Moseley and Wayde (Joyce) Bonomo; and a sister, Severina (Tom) Parker; Angie Carroll, who Charlene considered a daughter. She was preceded in passing by a brother, Andrew Fabian; and Dominic “Butch” Bonomo, who was like a father to her.

Char let everyone know who was in charge and kept everyone in line. EVERYONE who knew her was better for it. She was an amazing wife, mom, and grammy! She fought with bravery, courage, and faith. She was blessed to be in amazing hands during her fight with Ovarian Cancer. Her family would like to send special thanks to: Dr. Walfic Elmasri, Dr. Michael Method, Dr. Darrel Ross, Dr. Matt Vail, Samantha Davis PA, and all of the nurses who treated her like family along the way.

Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 7, 2016, at St. Louis de Montfort, 11441 Hague Road, Fishers. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., with the Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2016, at Flanner and Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Indiana Sheriffs’ Association Scholarship Fund or to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance.
