Chandler Lamar Bussey

Chandler Lamar Bussey, 20, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on June 12, 2020. He was born in Indianapolis on July 8, 1999.

He graduated from Lawrence Central High School in 2017 and went on to attend Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana. Chandler had a passion for shoes and in recent years began his own shoe restoration, bringing sneakers to their original condition. He played basketball, and ran track where he earned a Scholarship. He was the life of the party, you could always count him to make you smile, laugh or do some silly dance. He never met a stranger. He took pride in matching from head to toe. He was the best Big Bro Bro to his younger brother Kai. He was a mentor to other children, rather it was serving at Church or playing sports with other children. He was his nana’s keeper. Chandler was born to his mom at young age where he taught her how to love and keep her in line. He was the leader and the glue to the family. He enjoyed spending time with his friends. One of his last conversations with his mom was how he was working to change the world.

Chandler is survived by his beloved mother, Melissa Lucille Jude (Nicholas Washington); brother, Kai; father, Kareem Lamar Bussey, maternal grandmother, Sharon Jude, maternal grandfather Dennis Jude; paternal great-grandmother Shirley Pinner, aunt Darlene Jude, and host of other relatives.

Chandler is preceded by his paternal grandmother Gail Madison.

Memorial contributions will go forward to helping our youth and preventing youth gun violence. Checks can be made payable to Melissa Jude for her mission to change the world in Chandler’s name.

The visitation will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2020 from 11:00am – 1:00pm with funeral services to begin at 1:00pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229.
