Carolyn "Sue" Mccolley

Carolyn “Sue” McColley, 75 of Indianapolis passed away in her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 2nd, 2022, in Indianapolis.

Sue was born on January 18th, 1947 in Brinkley, Arkansas to father Talmage Suggett and Freeda (Camp) and was the oldest of 9 brothers and sisters. After attending Bible College, she moved to Indianapolis and met the love of her life, David McColley in July of 1970. They were married 3 months later on October 30th , 1970.

Sue was loved by all who knew her and held many important roles in her community. She was dubbed “Mom” to her neighborhood. Sue was always willing to help Dave work on his car and keep him company. She was a fantastic cook with a pot roast that would knock your socks off and made the best brownies and Kool-Aide in the neighborhood. Sue took pride in cooking and hosting all family gatherings. You always knew where Sue was by listening to her beautiful singing and whistling (especially in the grocery store where her family listened for whistling to find her). Sue enjoyed yardwork, keeping her and David’s property blooming and beautiful. As the First Lady of her church, Sue was devoted to her faith and ministry.

Sue will be sadly missed by husband David, sons Kevin(Tonia) and Robbie(Ajene “AJ”), grandchildren Robbie’on, Dammie’on, Kaiya, Tahj, Tae’den, Cameron, Carlee and Dorothy; siblings Patricia “Pat”(Robert-deceased), Leon (Renee), Talmage Jr. “Tommy” (Theresa), Brenda, Kathy, Loretta “Jeanie” and Debbie.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Nancy.

Services for Sue will be on Saturday, October 8th, 2022 at the Pentecostal Power of Praise Church, 650 E. Perry Street in Indianapolis from 10AM until 12PM with a funeral service starting at 12PM. Following the service, Sue will be laid to rest at the Washington Park East Cemetery, 10612 E. Washington Street.
