Carolyn Sue Baker, 83, of Indianapolis passed away on December 30, 2021. She was born in Indianapolis on November 2, 1938 to parents Ola Mae and James Grady Minor. Carolyn loved many things such as yard saling, thrift store shopping, and singing; but most importantly she loved spending time with her husband and all of her children and (great) grandchildren. She was a mother to many and a blessing to anyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, McKinley Wayne Baker; her children, Tina (Rick) Wood, Kara (Scott) Weremay, John (Barbara) Marshall, James Marshall, Theresa Merrill; her grandchildren, Michelle (Brad) Shoemaker, Daniel Marshall, John Wayne Marshall, Gina Clark, Lisa Bond, Amy Merrill, Don Merrill, and great grandchildren Makayla McLaughlin, Madelyn Wood, McKenna Wood, Arianna Weremay, Ashley (Jacob) Wynn, Cameron (Halley) Lumpkin, Chandler Weremay, Cayden Weremay; Sister Judy Grammer and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents Ola Mae and James Grady Minor, her brothers James Lamont (“Bud”), Norman Dale (“Skip”) and Richard Lee (“Sam”); Sisters Catherine Charlotte, Dorothy Louise, Irma Jean, Betty Anne, and Sharon Kay and great grandson Corbin Laycock.
A visitation will be held Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 5-8PM at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East. A funeral service will be held the following day at 11AM. Carolyn will be laid to rest in Washington Park East Cemetery.
