Carolyn Morris Brown

Carolyn Morris Brown, 77, of Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019.  She was born on June 11, 1941 in Smith Grove, KY to the late Wayne and Mabel (Payne) Hawks.

Carol relocated with her family to Indianapolis at a young age and graduated from Beech Grove High School in 1958.  She worked as an administrative assistant for Peters & Steel Law Offices, dedicating nearly 40 years of service to their firm.  Carol loved to travel with her family and friends, especially to the casino, and enjoyed playing cards around her kitchen table.

She is survived by her nephews, Dennis (Sarah) Rippy, Jerry (Suzy) Rippy, John (Rendy) Rippy; beloved grand nephews and nieces, Adam (Jhori) Rippy, Jacob (Tabatha) Rippy, Mariah Rippy, Amanda (Pete Lloyd-Jones) Rippy, Samantha Rippy, Hope Rippy and J.J. Rippy and cherished great-grand nieces and nephews, Lillian, Ava, Cooper, Eleanor, Logan, Sawyer, Emalyn and Natalie.  Carol was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Dennis Brown; and sister-in-law, Lorinda Graddy.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 1-2pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East with funeral services immediately following.  Entombment will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be given to the ASPCA or Habitat for Humanity.
