Brian Spencer Sorley

Brian Spencer Sorley, 63, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on February 25, 2021, after a courageous battle with head and neck cancer. Born in 1957 to the late Davey and Janice Sorley, he was the eldest of five children.

He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Stephanie (Lucy) Sorley.  His children include Christina Sorley, Nicole Sorley, Robyn (Jason) Sorley-Shampo; whom he shares with former wife and friend Jayne Sorley; and Olivia (Dakota) Duncan, and Karistann Calhoon to whom he has proudly been a bonus dad.  He was delighted to be a grandfather to Ava and was anticipating the arrival of baby boy Shampo due this April and baby Duncan due in September. His surviving family members include siblings: Craig (Vicki) Sorley, Darin (Rebecca) Sorley, Elisha Sorley (David White), and Angi (Jay) Snodgrass as well as numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Brian was a proud service member of the United States Army. He retired from Farm Credit Mid-America in 2017 after 25 years as a Network Engineer. He loved his family, traveling, IU, Colts, Pacers, golf, and his corvette.

Brian will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Services will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 at 1 pm at Flanner Buchanan Funeral Home, 105 W Pine St, Zionsville, IN. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. The family understands if you are unable to attend that you are holding them in your thoughts and prayers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Brian’s name to The Alzheimer Association or The American Cancer Society.

Due to COVID 19 mandates, all guests are required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing at visitation and services.
